Red Red and more red for the 2010 Red Ball
Microhire created an exuberant design for the celebrated 2010 Red Ball. Working with the amazing team at trumpet Events, Microhire's Creative Director, Michael Davey designed a room not only 'more red' than ever before, but created the mystique and theme behind the idea of a true 'Masquerade Ball'. Crown Palladium Ballroom was transformed into a theatre set from 1830, the Paris Opera house to be exact. Dripping with rich red, from the drapes to the custom made chair covers and table linen and everything in between is coloured in a rich red palette. The overall theme of Masquerade had that magical quality that takes the room from a pure colour theme to a rich Baroque evening affair, filled with candle light, floral and drama. Guests were immersed in the rich tapestry that was the Red Ball 2010. Glamour, intense richness and a style distinctly it's own.
Guests were astounded to walk into the room awash with dramatic lighting and either end of the room highlighted by human blackamoor statues holding onto two of our LED Chandelier structures, that rose into the roof with a dramatic rush of organ music. But it was the hero projection of a 20 metre screen with custom made content, created specifically for this one night, by Microhire's in house production team, that wowed the over 880 guests. Hand drawn animation bought the theatre set to life and evolved throughout the evening, heightening the drama. Rich red tapestry drapes flew open to reveal a hand drawn Opera House, complete with real time flickering candles and moving shadows. The entire set went up in digital flames to reveal the true image of the Paris Opera House and the evenings amazing 20 minute production number culminated in the dance floor and stage covered in over 220 performers.
