Microhire goes through the rabbit hole and into The Enchanted Garden
Financial Markets for Children Charity Ball returns to Microhire for its third year. This year the committee chose the amazing theme – The Enchanted Ball and in conjunction with event management company Arch Pr and Events (Marne Phillips) and ‘Trout’ - The Integrated Communications Agency, an amazing dreamscape was created for the evenings entertainment. Rabbits frolicking in the meadows, tree’s swaying in the breeze, flowers blooming in the sunshine and butterflies and birds circling above in the sky. All of this was bought to life with flash animation to create individual characters and scenes that could be choreographed throughout the night to appear and interact with the presenters on the stage.
Microhire Creative and Technical worked closely together to ensure that every part of the event matched and was consistent with the theme. Tables were a garden of roses, in fact over two thousand imported roses were washed with matched pin-spots from the ceiling highlighted with dramatic swathes of light sweeping across the room to create that perfect early morning forest mist.
The challenge for Microhire was to evolve the original two dimensional drawings and create a moving landscape to add a feature to the night. Rabbits interacted with presenters, birds removed layers of the digital set to make way for the picture in picture across the four projector blend. Using the latest in vision blending and switching technology, the screen was alive throughout the night with animation and movement. Not to forget throughout the evening was the deer and its young faun and a mob of wacky rabbits that looked like Kangaroos.
Microhire is proud to be involved in this event and our continued association with The Financial Markets Foundation for Children (FMFC), which as a charity has been supported by the major Australian commercial and investment banks for a number of years. It was established in 1990 and has raised $13 million to date, allocated to 180 projects. 100% of funds raised are donated to research into emerging children’s health issues such as childhood asthma, childhood leukaemia, diabetes, and Aboriginal children’s health and environment.
