At Microhire we are conscious of our corporate responsibility to the environment and being sustainable. As a point of difference to our competitors we invested heavily in forestry and have over 80 hectares of mature forests to offset the AV power used on our clients’ events.
Microhire takes its role as a good corporate citizen very seriously. We have recently refreshed our entire fleet of flat panel digital displays with 1080p LCD panels, which have significantly lower power consumption to plasma screens. Additionally, Microhire has a large stock holding of LED lighting and we can ensure that lighting fixtures will utilise LED and low power luminaries.
Not only is Microhire committed to sustainability in its events and our worlds environmental future, we have in place an employee incentive program to support both the environment and some of the victims of global warming and inequity, as described by our employee ‘Orphans for a greener future’ program. Furthermore, we are continuously exploring and evaluating leading edge technology in an effort to offer our clients not only the latest technology available but products that are energy efficient and affordable.
Environment Is Important To Us
It is impossible in audio visual to operate equipment without power consumption, but Microhire makes every effort to minimise its carbon footprint across their carbon life cycle, reducing the footprint to zero by product selection alone is not always possible. Microhire has invested in old growth forest holdings in order to offset any residual carbon effect.
The key stakeholders of the Microhire Group have invested heavily over the past 10 years in forestry and currently hold over 80 hectares of mature forest, that provides a measure of carbon offset for the Group.
Our donations in December 08 provided a second high in protein meal a day which will feed the children for many months to come. In 2009 we provided each child with a school uniform and our objective for 2010 is to be able to provide an additional set of clothing.
