Brief
Consult and manage all audio visual solutions for many of the more than 200 exhibiting companies, as well as Reed’s on-site offices, audiovisual requirements for press launches and all feature areas. Design and produce a Creative stage set and manage all audiovisual production for the awards dinner.
Responsibilities
Microhire was appointed the official audio visual and computer supplier for Pacprint 2009, the largest print industry trade show in the southern hemisphere, as well as their annual awards dinner, held at the Crown Palladium Ballroom. Providing audiovisual and event staging services for the exhibition organisers and over 200 stand builders and exhibitors. Providing audiovisual production for the largest custom build stand exhibiting at Pacprint, whose display covered 1,000 sqm of floor space at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.
Challenges
Delivering extensive audiovisual & technology requirements to exhibitors over the 27,000 sqm of exhibition space at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. We designed and scheduled a ‘just in time’ delivery system that allowed for stand builders and exhibitors to have the equipment required when they needed during their build, thus avoiding having all equipment delivered to one site at one time taking up space. Installation of 60” Plasma Screens, moving lights and speaker systems over industrial printing presses (some in excess of 13 metres long and several tons), timing was critical to ensure no part of the installation was delayed.
Results
Through pre-production meetings with clients, riggers, stand builders, freight and logistics companies Microhire was able to deliver all equipment and services on time, without any delay to the other parties involved. Utilising our semi-seamless LCD wall as a feature on the stage at the awards dinner produced a modern approach to stage design that drew acclaim from Reed and their sponsors.
