Brief
Design and produce a themed stage set and audiovisual
production for the Celebrity Theatre that could be cost
effectively delivered nationally in 4 major cities.
The brief also included managing several other live
feature elements at each location, managing a network
of digital signage towers and providing audio visual
services for hundreds of exhibitors at each location.
Responsibilities
Microhire was appointed the official audiovisual and
computer supplier for the Good Food & Wine Show 2009,
a consumer based exhibition of food & wine products
and services attended by over 100,000 visitors nationally.
This included installing production for a temporary 2,500-
seat auditorium for the Celebrity Theatre that hosted
several of the world’s most high profile chefs including
Gordon Ramsay, Curtis Stone and Tobie Puttock.
Microhire designed and managed all video content and
sponsor commercials for screening in the Celebrity
Theatre throughout the daily program of events, as well
as dynamic set projection and lighting.
Microhire also Designed and managed all of the content
for the digital signage towers located at the show
entrance and the Info Points throughout the exhibition
spaces, including timetable updates, show specials and
sponsor commercials.
Challenges
Designing a stage set and shows in conjunction with
Diversified Exhibitions that could be cost effectively
freighted to and re-assembled in each site.
Planning and executing this event nationally in
Melbourne, Sydney, Perth & Brisbane.
Simultaneously delivering the Celebrity Theatre,
whilst managing numerous other live demonstration
areas, seminar theatres and managing the
audiovisual requirements of multiple exhibitors.
Managing the expectations and personal
requirements of the Celebrity Chefs while ensuring
the Major Sponsors’ messages and branding were
delivered effectively.
Ensuring that the attendee’s could clearly see the
cooking demonstrations on-stage, hear the
instructions and be able to ask questions.
Results
By managing and planning for each area
separately, with each having its own Project
Manager allocated its own timelines and schedule,
establishing an on-site virtual warehouse and
scheduling all installations on a 24-hour basis.
Microhire was able to deliver all services on time, to
a world-class standard and within budget.
