Brief
To work with Tennis Australia designers and event managers,
consult and manage audio visual solutions for corporate dining
rooms. Supply and manage on court audio and lighting
for pre-game entertainment and awards ceremonies for
women’s and men’s singles finals.
Responsibilities
Microhire was responsible for two large components of the
Australian Open. The first and major component was the dining
areas for premium sponsors, as well as the AO club again
premium dining for VIP and celebrity guests of Tennis Australia.
These rooms held significant events through out the tournament
including the AO Draw, and the Legends Lunch. The second
component was managing the on court audio for performances
during Australia Day, Women’s Singles finals, and Men’s Singles
finals. To this we added a lighting component for the presentations
for the men’s and women’s singles.
Challenges
One of the biggest challenges was bump in and ensuring we
did not hold up any other contractors. A detailed production
schedule was put together and given to Tennis Australia to
combine with all other contractors, ensuring a smooth and
successful bump in.
Results
The overall outcome for Microhire is excellent; our services
were delivered to a world class standard, with all events running
extremely well.
We’ve certainly learnt a lot from this experience; however
I’m happy to say we have all walked away from the event
feeling very positive and looking forward to the 2011 tournament.
